Sanguen Leadership
Dr. Chris Steingart: Chris is co-founder of Sanguen and serves as the Executive Director. Chris trained at the University of Calgary, receiving certification in Internal Medicine in 1995. In 2007, he founded the province’s first charitable Hepatitis C service organization after seeing a need for specialized care for HIV and Hepatitis C patients in the community.
Michelle Steingart: Michelle co-founded Sanguen with Chris in 2007. Michelle serves as Sanguen’s Administrator and Clinical Program Coordinator ensuring smooth clinic operations, from appointments to liaising with specialists and greeting visitors. Michelle is key to keeping Sanguen organized and moving in the right direction..
Lindsay Sprague: joined Sanguen in 2020, focusing on community program development in Kitchener and Guelph. With experience in harm reduction, addiction, and elder care, Lindsay brings valuable expertise and compassionate leadership to the team.
Anne Phillips: Anne provides strategic leadership across Sanguen’s programs and services. As a Registered Nurse, she joined Sanguen in 2022 and has helped strengthen and advance clinical and community-based care across the regions we serve. She is deeply committed to equitable access to healthcare, with a focus on reducing system inequities in primary care and mental health.
Julie Kalbfleisch: Sanguen’s Director of Public Engagement, brings over 25 years of public sector communications experience to the team. With a strategic approach honed in various roles within the community, she looks for ways to leverage her expertise to drive Sanguen’s mission forward through authentic and effective engagement.
