Throughout the year, Sanguen participates in and hosts events across Waterloo Region and Guelph Wellington. Events are an important way we connect, share information, reduce stigma, and build safer, healthier communities together.
Signature Events
💛 Share the Love — First Wednesday in February
Our annual Share the Love event brings the community together to raise awareness, show compassion, and support harm reduction initiatives. It’s a chance to stand together, challenge stigma, and celebrate the impact of community care.
🌍 International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) — August 31
Sanguen participates in IOAD events across Waterloo Region and Guelph Wellington. This day honours the lives lost to overdose, supports grieving families and communities, and strengthens our collective commitment to reducing drug-related harms.
🌎 World Hepatitis Day — July 28
We host and participate in World Hepatitis Day events to increase awareness about hepatitis C, promote testing and treatment, and reduce stigma. Activities take place across both regions and focus on education, engagement, and access to care.
