Hepatitis C
Specialized testing, treatment and outreach for those living with or at risk of Hepatitis C.
HIV
Access to testing and antiretroviral medication to persons at risk of HIV infection.

Testing and treatment options for a variety of STI infections as well as Hep C, HIV, Pregnancy tests and follow up care.
Primary Care
Providing preventative healthcare, screening and management of chronic illnesses as well as referrals and other support both in clinic and through our bus program.
Primary Care Bus
Working through a harm reduction lens, the bus offers low barrier health care to folks within the region who are precariously housed or unhoused.
Community Outreach & Engagement
Peer Support
Our peers are central to our outreach initiatives and typically come from a place of lived or living experience which is essential to building trust and connections.
Community Health Van
The vans make daily stops throughout Waterloo Region and Guelph/Wellington, connecting community members to harm reduction supplies, food, clothing, nursing and social support.
WINS Program
The “Working to Improve Neighborhood Safety” initiative involves trained Peer Outreach Workers who move throughout the community looking for improperly discarded syringes.
Education & Training
Our team can provide harm reduction focused educational workshops and presentations on a variety of topics. All presentations are focused on what’s happening in our community – and include information about local resources.
Volunteer Opportunities
In both Waterloo Region and Guelph Wellington, community members who are interested in volunteering with Sanguen have a variety of options.
Shelter and Housing Supports
ESHRII
The Emergency Shelter Harm Reduction Integration Initiative provides low-barrier training and education to shelter staff, leadership and participants to reduce harms associated with substance use.
SHHI
The Supportive Housing and Health Initiative (SHHI) addresses the ongoing challenges faced by individuals transitioning from homelessness to stable housing.
Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention
Consumption & Treatment Services (CTS)
CTS is a health care service where people can use their own drugs under the supervision of medically trained workers. CTS operates under an exemption to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and provides a number of wrap-around services as well.
Drug Checking Program
Using a device developed by University of Western Ontario researchers, anyone who uses or supports someone who uses drugs can test samples for dangerous fillers and other substances to make informed decisions.
Harm Reduction
Offered across all of our programs and services – Harm Reduction is a powerful tool in the addictions healthcare continuum.
